How Do Tanning Tablets Work?

Myvitamins Tanning Tablets contain carotenoids beta-carotene, lycopene and amino acid l-tyrosine.

  • Beta-carotene is an organic pigment which the body converts into vitamin A. Recent studies have shown that vitamin A is involved in the production of melanin in the skin. (1) Melanin determines our skin and hair colour, impacts skin pigmentation and protects our skin from sun damage.
  • Lycopene is a plant nutrient which has a range of antioxidant benefits, including detoxifying free radicals and improving skin density. 2
  • L-tyrosine is a non-essential amino acid which is important for the production of neurotransmitters and also melanin. 3

Our Tanning Tablets also contain 0.25mg of copper per serving. This mineral plays an important part in skin pigmentation. 4
