Total Lycopene
Note: Best Before 01/04/15
Lycopene can be used to provide protection against heart disease. It may also lower the risk of certain types of cancers, including prostate and lung cancer.
Lycopene has also been shown to enhance immunity and reduce the development of macular degeneration.
Lycopene is typically found in red fruits, such as watermelon, red grapefruit, guava and in particular, cooked tomatoes. Although more than 600 cartenoids have been identified in food, current research suggest that only six of them are used in significant ways by the body or tissues of the body, lycopene being one of them along with beta-carotene, alpha-cartotene, lutein, zeaxanthin and cryptoxanthin.
